Palacio de Viana · Plaza de Don Gome, Córdoba

The Viana Palace patios and gardens ticket

A self-guided entry to the 12 patios and the garden of the Palacio de Viana, sold by the palace itself through GetYourGuide. Pick it if you want the courtyards at your own pace and the option to cancel, not a discount.

Viana Palace Patios & Gardens Ticket

About this experience

This is the palace's own patios ticket, resold on GetYourGuide. It opens the 12 patios, the garden of about 1,200 m2 and the ground-floor institutional rooms, and you walk them in any order until closing. Some patios have QR codes that link to short audio notes. Guests report spending one to two hours, and the walking adds up: the patios run one into the next across a whole city block.

Be clear on what it leaves out. The rooms upstairs are not included. The listing says so in its own small print: the interior needs a separate ticket bought on site. That is the 40-minute guided interior tour for €9, in Spanish with a written English and French translation. If you know you want the rooms, the palace's €14 combined ticket on its official visits page is the cheaper route, or else book the guided patios and palace tour, which includes both.

Price is the other thing to know. At the door the same patios ticket costs €8.50, and online it is $10, so you are paying for the mobile ticket and free cancellation up to 24 hours before, not for a deal. Under-10s go free at the door. Since June 2026 several guests have mentioned irrigation and building work in one central patio; one found the way to the other patios through the shop. Check for works if you are going for photos.

  • All 12 patios, from the 15th-century Patio de los Naranjos to the Columnas of the 1980s
  • A formal garden of about 1,200 m2 with box parterres, orange trees and an old holm oak
  • QR codes with audio notes in some patios
  • Mobile ticket on your phone right after booking
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before

How the day runs

  1. On arrivalShow your phone at the entrance

The palace door is on Plaza de Don Gome. No printing needed; the box office scans the mobile ticket. Last admission is one hour before closing.

  2. About 15 minThe entrance patios

The Patio de Recibo with its 1930 palm, then the Archivo and the orange trees of the Naranjos. Photos are fine here, not in the stables off the Recibo.

  3. About 30 minThe middle patios

The iron grilles of the Rejas, the naiad fountain in the Madama, the Gatos, and the five patios added in 1814: Capilla, Alberca, Pozo, Jardineros and Cancela.

  4. About 20 minColumnas and the garden

The largest patio, then the box parterres of the garden. Go here first if you arrive at opening.

  5. Optional, 40 minThe rooms upstairs

Buy the €9 guided interior tour at the desk if a slot is free. It is in Spanish, with a written translation. No photos inside.

What guests say

★★★★★

What a delightful 'palace'. It's the former home of noble people. Well laid out and tranquil. The patios and rooms are a sweet respite from the heat of Cordoba. Definitely worthwhile to attend this self paced delight to the senses

★★★★★

Beautiful gardens with orange trees, fountains, flower walls & pots and ornate courtyards, 1-2 hours walk through. Absolutely worth it

Trina · Mar 2026
★★★★★

We loved the gardens they were so beautiful. We didn't have a guide and were glad as it enabled us to just chill and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. There was plenty of information available in each garden so we didn't feel that we missed out.

Such a lovely place to visit. If you are coming to Cordoba you should not miss this, I found this much more enjoyable than the patios tour in the centre of town.

Tips before you book

  • Arrive at opening (10:00, or 9:00 in July and August) and walk straight to the Columnas and the garden. They fill first.
  • In July and August the palace closes at 15:00, every day it opens. Plan the Mezquita for the afternoon.
  • If a patio is fenced off for works, ask staff for the way through. One guest only found the far patios via the shop.
  • Drink water before you go in. Food and drink are not allowed, and big bags have to stay outside.
  • Want the rooms after all? Ask at the desk for the next interior slot as soon as you arrive. In spring they sell out.
