What are the Viana Palace's normal opening hours?

Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:00, Sundays and holidays 10:00 to 15:00, closed Mondays; in July and August, Tuesday to Sunday 9:00 to 15:00.

Last entry is one hour before closing. That's strict: a Tripadvisor reviewer in July 2026 arrived 20 minutes before closing and was told the palace had already shut.

Which holidays is it open in autumn 2026?

Is the Viana Palace open at Christmas and New Year?

Yes, except on 25 December. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve close early at 14:00; 1 and 6 January 2027 aren't confirmed yet.

Both 1 January (a Friday) and 6 January (a Wednesday) are public holidays in 2027. The palace's general rule gives holidays the 10:00 to 15:00 timetable, but it shuts on Christmas Day, so don't assume New Year's Day until the January hours go up.

The palace usually dresses up for the season. Last winter it ran a nativity exhibition, Belenismo, from 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, with free children's activities and a carol concert (Viana en Navidad 2025). The 2026 programme is not out yet. Before that, the theatre show El Burlador en Palacio runs in the palace from 22 October to 8 November 2026.

Is the Viana Palace open during Semana Santa 2027?

Holy Week 2027 runs from Palm Sunday 21 March to Easter Sunday 28 March. The palace hasn't published Easter hours; Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are holidays, so expect 10:00 to 15:00.

The 25 and 26 March holidays come from the Andalusian calendar, and Holy Week dates from the city's 2027 calendar. In each of the last two springs the palace also opened on Mondays from early March to mid May, 10:00 to 15:00: 4 March to 13 May 2024 and 3 March to 19 May 2025. If that repeats, Holy Monday (22 March 2027) would fall inside it, but no 2027 announcement exists yet. Andalusia Day moves to Monday 1 March in 2027; its hours aren't published either.

Easter is the busiest week of early spring in Córdoba. Go at 10:00, and leave the evenings for the processions.

When does the summer schedule start in 2027?

On 1 July: from then until 31 August the palace opens Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 to 15:00.

June keeps the long 10:00 to 19:00 weekday hours, and September brings them back. In July and August afternoons in Córdoba average about 37°C, which is why the palace shuts at 15:00 every day, Sundays included. If you are in town in summer, go at 9:00 and pair it with the Mezquita afterwards. The best time to visit covers flowers and crowds month by month.

Is the Viana Palace open on Mondays?

Normally no, but there are three holiday Mondays left in 2026, and in 2024 and 2025 it opened every spring Monday.

The Mondays to know before Easter 2027: 12 October, 2 November and 7 December 2026, all confirmed.
